Zone d'exclusion

La protection civile Islandaise a publié une carte de la zone d’exclusion autour de l’Eyjafjallajökull. La zone comprend l’ensemble du massif Eyjafjallajöokull/Myrdalsjökull. Thorsmork/Basar sont interdits pour l’instant.
La F261 est accessible mais pas la F248/F249 après la Markarvegur.

Volcanic plume

Les vents ont essentiellement soufflé du nord-nord ouest, donc les retombées de cendres volcaniques sont concentrées essentiellement au sud de l’Eyjafjoll. On peut le constater l’ampleur du phénomène sur les (malgré tout superbes) photos de The Big Picture. Et Skógafoss ne fait pas exception.

Winds blew mostly from north-north west, thus most ash fall occured in the south of Eyjafjoll. One can see how huge the fall is on the (nonetheless great) pictures at the The Big Picture site. Skógafoss is not exception.
