Les vents ont essentiellement soufflé du nord-nord ouest, donc les retombées de cendres volcaniques sont concentrées essentiellement au sud de l’Eyjafjoll. On peut le constater l’ampleur du phénomène sur les (malgré tout superbes) photos de The Big Picture. Et Skógafoss ne fait pas exception.

Winds blew mostly from north-north west, thus most ash fall occured in the south of Eyjafjoll. One can see how huge the fall is on the (nonetheless great) pictures at the The Big Picture site. Skógafoss is not exception.

Here is a small EQ visualization applet built with Processing, based on ideas from Michael Cerulli Billingsley

Circles represents EQ events.
Circle diameter is proportional to the EQ magnitude.

Run/Stop button : starts / pauses the animation
Rewind : restarts animation
Persistence : how many hours will EQ be displayed (fading) on the map
Magnitude factor : how big should circles be for a given magnitude

Petite applet de visualisation de séismes développée sous Processing, basée sur une idée de Michael Cerulli Billingsley

Chaque cercle représente un tremblement de terre.
Le diamètre du cercle est proportionnel à la magnitude du séisme.

Run/Stop button : démarre / stoppe l’animation
Rewind : redémarre lanimation
Persistence : combien de temps les séismes apparaissent sur la carte (tout en devenant transparents)
Magnitude factor : Quelle diamètre doit avoir un cercle pour une magnitude donnée
